Advanced Public Relations Writing
Advanced Public Relations Writing has been my favorite course I have taken at OSU. At the beginning of the course, I created a fictitious nonprofit. All of the assignments for the course were promotional material I wrote for my nonprofit, Cowboys Create. Cowboys Create is an organization that engages Stillwater youth in art programs through mentorship. Below is a newsletter, news release and brochure I created.
Persuasive Writing
Persuasive writing was one of the most challenging courses that I have taken at OSU. This course opened my eyes to the power of words and pushed me to become a better writer. In persuasive writing, students learn how to write effectively for the many mediums within the communications industry.
This is a media kit I put together for a fictitious cookie company. It includes multiple news releases as well as a photo advisory, photo page, executive backgrounder, company backgrounder and business card.
This is an advertising kit I put together for the same fictitious cookie company. It includes a print advertisement, banner advertisement and radio script.
Crisis Plan
Below is a crisis communication plan four students and I created for the Stillwater Humane Society for our Management and Strategies class. This course focuses on management and crisis communication. It teaches students how to effectively communication to employees, management and key publics. The course also teaches different methods to handle conflict and crisis thoughtfully and efficiently, which is important in the communications industry.
